Found locally across the region but not common. Some evidence of a decline in Staffs.

Typically inhabits hill slopes, heaths and woodland edges where the larvae feed on the roots of bracken.

Adults fly from dusk onwards.

The form Korscheltellus fusconebulosa f. gallicus is uncommon.
