A species of open and disturbed habitats, derelict land.
Overwinters as a pupa, adults are attracted to light.
Note Foxglove Pug is larger and in that species the central black band is interrupted part way along by a tawny streak whereas in Toadflax it is uniformly black. Also, the outer margin of the black band is straight where it meets the costa but is angled in Foxglove.
