A common species across the region.

Found in a range of habitats.

Overwinters as a pupa, adults come readily to light.

Note Foxglove Pug is larger than Toadflax. The central black band is interrupted part way along by a tawny streak whereas in Toadflax it is uniformly black. Also, the outer margin of the black band is straight in Toadflax where it meets the costa but is angled in Foxglove.
