An uncommon and declining resident.

A species of gardens, riverbanks, damp grassland.

Overwinters as a larva and adults come to light but more often to sugar.

Note Feathered Gothic has narrower wings, dark cross-lines and, in the male, a feathered antennae. It also flies later in the year.
