Grey Shoulder-knot
Lithophane ornitopus

A fairly common resident.

A species of broadleaved parkland and woodland.

Overwinters as an adult. May be found resting on tree trunks during the day but visits Ivy blossom and ripe blackberries in autumn and Sallow catkins in spring. Is attracted to light and sugar.

Note the antler-shaped black mark at the base of the wing is diagnostic.
