A common resident found across the region.

A species of open woodland, scrubby heath, moorland and grassland; not often coming in to gardens.

Overwinters as a pupa, adults fly at dusk but are not often attracted to light.

Note Confusion comes from its name rather than its appearance with recorders noting it as Small Emerald rather than Little Emerald!
