A fairly common resident in the south and east of the region but scarce and declining in the north.

Rather damp places including woodland, fen, rough grassland.

Overwinters as a larva and adults fly from dusk and are attracted to light.

Recorded in 60 (43%) of 140 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1887.
Last Recorded in 2022.
