Eupithecia linariata

([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775) 1816 / 70.150

A fairly common resident; more so in the east of the region.

A species of open and disturbed habitats, derelict land.

Overwinters as a pupa, adults are attracted to light.

Note Foxglove Pug is larger and in that species the central black band is interrupted part way along by a tawny streak whereas in Toadflax it is uniformly black. Also, the outer margin of the black band is straight where it meets the costa but is angled in Foxglove.

Recorded in 63 (45%) of 140 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1867.
Last Recorded in 2022.
