An uncommon resident, mainly in the south.

Found in derelict land, often in urban areas.

Overwinters as a pupa, adults coming to light.
Note A distinctly large pug with a pale-brown colour and tiny discal spot.Often a distinct wavy sub-terminal line on fore- and hind-wings.
