Ectropis crepuscularia

(Goeze, 1781) 1947 / 70.270
=Ectropis bistortata

A common species across the region.

Most common in broadleaved woodland but also in hedgerows, scrub, parks and gardens.

Overwinters as a pupa. Adults can be found at rest on tree trunks and are readily attracted to light.

Note There has always been debate as to whether Engrailed and Small Engrailed are separate species. Current thinking is that there is just one so all records should go down as E. crepuscularia.

First Recorded in 1887.
Last Recorded in 2022.
