Most commonly found in poplar plantations but also woodland and also gardens.
Overwinters as a pupa and adults are occasionally attracted to light.
Note Often confused with Sallow Kitten. In Poplar the outer cross-line is not so irregular in shape and the leading half is thickly outlines in black. It is also slightly larger.
