A now common resident but, in Staffordshire at least, there had only been 8 records prior to 1980,so a massive expansion.

Found in many habitats including gardens.

Overwinters as a larva while adults come readily to light and to sugar.

Recorded in 112 (80%) of 140 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1869.
Last Recorded in 2022.
