A fairly common resident in the south that is spreading northwards. First noted in Staffordshire in 2010.

A species of rough open ground but also brownfield sites, gardens and allotments.

Overwinters a s a pupa while adults are attracted to light.

Recorded in 34 (24%) of 140 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1887.
Last Recorded in 2019.
