Marbled Coronet
Hadena confusa

(Hufnagel, 1766) 2171 / 73.283

A scarce species in the north.

Overwinters as a pupa, sometimes twice. Adults are attracted to light.

Note Varied Coronet is similar However Marbled is restricted in its distribution so that should help. In Varied the white cross band is complete and meets the trailing edge whereas on Marbled it does not meet the trailing edge and therefore appears more oblique.

Retained Specimen / Photograph will be Required.

Recorded in 12 (9%) of 140 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1887.
Last Recorded in 2018.
