Rufous Minor
Oligia versicolor

(Borkhausen, 1792) 2338 / 73.175

A fairly species across the region; the least common of the three species.

Found in a wide variety of grassy habitats including gardens.

Overwinters as a larva and adults come readily to light.

Note Melanic individuals are common, especially in urban areas. If the melanic moth shows a orangey or wine-red central shade that is a pointer to it possibly being a Rufous Minor. However dissection will be needed to confirm.
