Six-belted Clearwing
Bembecia ichneumoniformis

Locally distributed but sometimes common where it occurs.

Fairly common on limestone grassland and road verges. Is being found more frequently on brown-field sites where Bird's-foot Trefoil is a common plant.

Larvae live in the stems of the foodplant.

Comes readily to the API pheromone lure, sometimes in large numbers.

Recorded in 44 (31%) of 140 10k Squares.
