Nolidae

Contains two subfamilies: the Nolinae which are small moths easily mistaken for microlepidoptera. They have a characteristic triangular shaped resting posture with rounded wingtips. Their hairy larvae feed on the foliage of trees and shrubs and pupate in a tough boat-shaped cocoon; and the Chloephorinae, the silver-lines, which are attractive green coloured moths, and the oak nycteoline, a very variable moth easily mistaken for a tortrix. They also pupate in a similar boat-shaped cocoon.
