A common resident.

Found in woodland and scrub and often gardens.

Overwinters as a pupa while adults come to light.

Note Similar to Brindled Pug but discal spot is larger, there are three dark dashes beyond the discal spot and there are two pale patches extending to the wing margin in fresh specimens.
