A common resident.
Found in woodland and scrub and often gardens.
Overwinters as a pupa while adults come to light.
Note Similar to Brindled Pug but discal spot is larger, there are three dark dashes beyond the discal spot and there are two pale patches extending to the wing margin in fresh specimens. Recorded in 110 (79%) of 140 10k Squares. First Recorded in 1869. Last Recorded in 2022. (Data up to end 2022) |
