A fairly common resident across the region.
A species of heathland, moorland, open woodland but also hedgerows and gardens.
Overwinters as an egg. Adults fly at dusk and later come to light. They may travel some distance from the nearest Broom. Recorded in 77 (55%) of 140 10k Squares. First Recorded in 1860. Last Recorded in 2022. (Data up to end 2022) |
