A fairly common resident, especially in the south of the region.

A species of broadleaved woodland, marshes, riverbanks, parks and gardens.

Overwinters as an egg and adults come to light and sugar.

Note resembles the rare Double Kidney but in that species the forewing quite hooked and the subterminal line is curved downwards, towards the wing tip. It is also darker, often with a pink tinge.
