A common species throughout the region.

Found in many lowland habitats.

Overwinters as a larva and adults come readily to light.

Note Uncertain and Rustic are very similar and worn examples will have to be dissected. Uncertain is more tawny and the contrast between the background colour and the colour of the kidney mark and oval mark is greater. Rustic tends to be less contrasty.
