A rare and local but declining resident.

A species of old oak woodland like the Wyre Forest.

Overwinters as a full grown larva. Adults come to light in small numbers.

Note the name doesn't help! It is far from common; the Fan-foot is the common species. Dissection will be needed to secure a record of this species which is generally paler than Fan-foot.
