Fairly common resident.

Most easily recorded from leaf mines on Crataegus spp. with larva feeding from the end of June to early August. In a gallery with dispersed frass often forming a blotch; larva green. Egg case easily found on the underside of the leaf, near the midrib (cf. mine of S. perpygmaeella).
