Chilo phragmitella

A local species of fens, river banks, ditches etc. but may wander.

Larvae live in the stem and rootstock of Phragmites and Glyceria from September to June. Pupa in a stem.

Note the female could be overlooked for Donacaula forficella which has the costa convex towards the wingtip rather than concave as in this species.
