Rare resident.
Ribes spp.
Flies in May/June with larva feeding from June to April, at first in a green fruit, then in April after hibernation in a shoot causing it to wilt.
Used to be found on currant and gooseberry bushes in gardens, and was described as a pest species in the past, but then declined dramatically in the UK.
Rediscovered in recent years in the Wyre on Red Currant growing on the banks of the Dowels Brook.
