Eudonia lacustrata

=Dipleurina lacustrata

A common species of woods, parks and gardens. Rests by day on tree trunks, walls etc and later comes readily to light.

Note similar to Eudonia mercurella but that species has a slightly narrower and more pointed forewing. The pale sub-terrminal line of mercurella is usually entire. E. lacustrata sometimes has a hint of yellowish-brown and is often quite whitish. E. mercurella rarely, if ever shows a brownish tinge.
