Cataclysta lemnata

An attractive and common species found around ponds, drainage ditches, reedbeds and occasionally elsewhere.

Readily disturbed from waterside vegetation during the day and later comes to light.

The male is white while the female is brownish but both have a distinctive hindwing with a broad black, white-spotted terminal line.
