A common resident especially in oak woodland.

The larvae feed from September to May in spun leaves of oak Quercus spp.

The adults come to light and also to sugar.

Recorded in 92 (66%) of 140 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1853.
Last Recorded in 2022.
