Ectoedemia argyropeza

Common resident in moist ancient woodlands with aspen.

Mines leaves of Populus tremulus and occasionally other Populus spp. with larva feeding from September to November. Mines at first in the petiole, later making a blotch in the base of the leaf, which is visible as a 'green island' in the yellow leaf after it has fallen. A parthenogenetic species in our area.

Recorded in 40 (29%) of 140 10k Squares.
