Lyonetia clerkella

(Linnaeus, 1758)263 / 21.001

Very common resident.
Flies June, August, and from October to April, with the imagine hibernating.
Larvae on rosaceous trees and shrubs, and Betula spp. feeding in May, July, and in September, October in a long sinuous mine in a leaf.
The long thin yellow larva leaves the mine to pupate in a
cocoon suspended like a hammock from a leaf, by a few strands of silk from each end.
