Common resident, less restricted to ancient deciduous woodland than the very similar C. alchimiella.

Quercus spp., with larva feeding from May to July and September/October in the same manner as C. alchimiella.

Attracted to light.

Determination by Genitalia Examination (gen. det.) Required

Mine: Moth needs to be reared and, in some cases, possibly dissected.
