From a rarity at the start of the millennium, it is now becoming fairly common.

Alnus glutinosa and occasionally A. incana or A. cordata with larva feeding in May/June and August/September. At first in a blotch on the underside of a leaf, later in a small fold on the margin. Pupates in a white cocoon in a folded down leaf edge.
