Fairly common resident.

Crataegus spp., Malus spp., Prunus spinosa, and occasionally Tilia cordata. With larva feeding on the leaves from August to May in a black, pistol shaped case. In the autumn it pockmarks the leaf with many tiny mines, but eats holes in the leaves in the spring.
