Rare local resident on heathland.

Adult flies in sunshine, late morning, during March and April with larva probably feeding in August/September on dead or withered thyme or heather.

Recorded in 6 (4%) of 140 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1924.
Last Recorded in 2018.
