Common resident.

Mines the leaves of Ulmus spp. with larva feeding in August - November. In a variable gallery mine eventually with linear or dispersed frass, but early mine always with linear frass leaving clear margins; larva green, vacating mine via underside of leaf (cf. mine of S. lemniscella).
