Scrobipalpa nitentella

(Fuchs, 1902)815 / 35.115

Found mainly on coastal saltmarsh with larva feeding initially in mines and later externally on leaves and seeds, August to October. Overwinters as a pupa, flight period June, to August.

Larvae were found to be plentiful on orache at the edge of the saline Flashes pools at the Upton Warren Nature Reserve in August 2022. Identification was confirmed through rearing and dissection.
