Fairly common resident.

Mining the leaves of Quercus spp. with larva feeding in June/July and October/November, often in 'green islands'. In a gallery mine with linear frass which cannot always be reliably distinguished from that of S. atricapitella.

Mine: Moth needs to be reared and, in some cases, possibly dissected.
