A moth kept by John Walshe from Whitchurch, Herefordshire and dissected by myself (Peter Hall) has proven to be a female Spiny Hook-tip, dated October 29th 2024. This precedes a photo uploaded onto INaturalist, which experts confirm as another Spiny Hook-tip in the county, caught a week later. Recorders are strongly encouraged to keep any "Oak Hook-tips" for dissection going forward until we discover just how common Spiny Hook-tip is, up until now firmly hidden from discovery..
