Locally common and increasing.

Acer campestre and occasionally A. pseudoplatanus or A. platanoides with larva feeding in June/July. At first in a blotch on the underside of a leaf and then in cones made by transversely rolling the leaf from the tip, sealing the ends with the adjacent leaf lobes. On sycamore the cone is as C. rufipennella. With new Acer feeding Caloptilias establishing in the UK, extra care should be taken with identification.

	Mine: Moth needs to be reared and, in some cases, possibly dissected.
